On January 19th, I (along with four of my nine team members) was able to reach the 22,834 ft summit of Mt Aconcagua in Argentina. We had to weather 100 mph winds at camp 3 (19,200 ft) and sub-zero temperatures to achieve our goal. Those last few steps to the summit were very gratifying, knowing that all of our hard work and conditioning had paid off. The view from the top of South America was spectacular and well worth the effort.
I would like to thank those of you who made generous contributions to the Children’s Hunger Fund on behalf of my climb of Mt Aconcagua. To date, we have raised over $6,000 for CHF to alleviate suffering of children around the world. Throughout 2008 I will continue to pursue my goal of raising $22,834 for CHF by organizing a 5k and other events.
